Chair of the Radio New Zealand Board of Governors

Richard Griffin was appointed to the board as a governor in May 2010. He has an extensive career in print media, radio, television and public relations. A past Radio New Zealand Political Editor and a life member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, he served as Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to Prime Minister, Jim Bolger from 1993 until 1998. He was Manager of Policy Development, Government Relations and Communications for TVNZ from 2000 to 2007. Mr Griffin is a director of the public relations consultancy, Fraser, Griffin, Wood.

Jane Taylor is a self-employed business consultant from Queenstown. She has an extensive financial and legal background and is a former director and principal of a chartered accountants firm.

Ms Taylor is currently Chair of Landcare Research New Zealand and a director of Silver Fern Farms, Hirepool Group, and OTPP New Zealand Forest Investments.

Rodger Finlay has more than 30 years' experience in the financial services industry including senior investment banking and funds management positions with major institutions, specialising in the global natural resource sectors. Rodger has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Otago. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Sheena Henderson is a Christchurch based professional director and a corporate advisor specialising in global branding and marketing. 25+ years experience, much of it in strategic leadership roles, running large local and international businesses, Sheena’s current directorships include Smiths City Group, Watson & Son’s, NZ Pork Board, K9 Natural Food Group, Young Enterprise Trust, and Cluster Consulting Group.

Bill Francis has spent an extensive career in broadcasting, including 17 years as the General Manger of Talk for the Radio Network. He more recently was Chief Executive of the Radio Broadcasters Association.

He has had a long association with sport including being a director of both Auckland Cricket and New Zealand Cricket.

He is the author of ten books including two on radio.

Melissa has 25 years' experience as an entrepreneur and in the business startup community.  She has been a CEO of a number of technology companies, and is on the boards of government agencies as well as high growth technology companies. 

Her background includes online, TV and computer gaming. She works as a digital strategist, and mentors widely in the international startup community.

Graham is an accountant, media and business consultant and director. He is currently contracted to manage Te Whakaruruhau o Ngā Reo Irirangi Māori Incorporated which represents Iwi/Maori radio stations. He is a director of Kākano Whakatipu Ltd, an iwi forestry investment company representing Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust, and a consultant at Pryor & Associates.

Previously Graham was CEO of Mai Media Ltd for 14 years, and Chairman of Mai Music Ltd and Mai Publishing Ltd. He has iwi affiliations with Ngāti Awa & Ngāti Rangitihi.
