Creamy Muesli with Fresh Fruit

Creamy "Bircher"-style muesli is a healthy, delicious and sustaining breakfast meal. When looking for rolled oats, try the supermarket bulk-bins. Use "whole" rolled oats, not porridge mix or instant porridge, as these give this dish its lovely texture.


  • 3 cups whole rolled oats
  • 1 cup plain unsweetened yoghurt
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup liquid honey
  • ¼ cup cream
  • 2 bananas, diced
  • 1 red apple, grated
  • 2 kiwifruit, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup of your favourite dried fruits, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup mixed nuts, roughly chopped


The night before, place the oats in a bowl, cover with cold water and put in the fridge.

In the morning, drain off the liquid using a strainer. Place the oats into a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving, as this will help develop the flavours
