Soy Sauce Chicken Wings

(Serves 2)


  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 6 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • ¼ tsp five-spice powder
  • ¼ C finely chopped fresh ginger
  • ¼ C dry sherry
  • ½ C honey
  • ¼ C light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp peanut oil


Combine the chicken in a bowl with all the other ingredients except the peanut oil. Using your hands, mix thoroughly to combine.

Heat the peanut oil in a hot wok. Add the chicken wings, reserving the liquid in the bowl. Brown the chicken on all sides, then pour the liquid into the wok.

Cover with a lid and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently for 25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked.

Serve wit)h rice.
