The Tuhuru hapu of the South Island West Coast and the Te Iwi Moriori Trust Board have lodged fishing claims with the Waitangi Tribunal. The two groups are unhappy with the National government's Sealord deal, which is meant to settle all Māori commercial fishing claims.
