About Resound

Kenneth Young

Major New Zealand works are getting unlocked from the Radio New Zealand Concert archive and given a new life on air and on the web.

Introduced each week by composer and conductor Kenneth Young, a member of the Resound artistic panel, the compositions are put in context then heard complete on Tuesdays in Sound Lounge with Kate Mead.

In 2010, Ken covered chamber works. Starting 18 October 2011, he looks at ten orchestral pieces from the archives.

Background

Resound is a venture of NZ On Air and SOUNZ, the Centre for New Zealand Music to unlock recordings of significant compositions from Radio New Zealand Concert's archive.

Over the last few years, RNZ's New Zealand Composers Archive has been transferred to digital, and selected compositions will be re-broadcast and offered as web audio.
