In this Music Alive the Australian Chamber Orchestra performs a programme of music selected by Alex Ross, the New Yorker music critic and best-selling author of The Rest is Noise and Listen to This.

Included in the programme is Nostalghia: In memory of Andrei Tarkovsky by Takemitsu, Britten’s Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, Apotheosis, from Apollo by Stravinsky, Webern’s Five Movements for Strings, Voile by Xenakis and Richard Strauss’s Metamorphosen.

This concert was recorded live in the Adelaide Town Hall by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation
