Direct from Wellington Town Hall
“Pierard’s sound is the purest tempered steel”.... The Independent (London)
We cross to the Wellington Town Hall for a direct broadcast from rising star soprano Madeleine Pierard who has returned to New Zealand to perform with esteemed pianist Terence Dennis.
Madeleine won the 2005 Lexus Song Quest before pursuing a Master’s Degree at London’s Benjamin Britten Opera School. She is currently a Jette Parker Young Artist with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.
New Zealand pianist Terence Dennis, who last toured for CMNZ with Anna Leese in 2008 and regularly works with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, will be performing alongside Madeleine.
The concert includes Canteloube’s gorgeous Songs of the Auvergne and Berg’s lush Seven Early Songs, which show influences of Bruckner, Mahler and Debussy.
