Kathryn Tickell & The Side

Kathryn Tickell is one of Britain’s most respected folk musicians – she’s a leading exponent of the Northumbrian smallpipes, as well as a fiddle player, singer and composer. She’s released over a dozen albums, and her long and varied list of musical collaborations includes Sting and Deep Purple’s Jon Lord. In 2013, she won the Musician of the Year Award at BBC 2’s Folk Awards. This week, we’ll hear selections from her latest album with her new band, Kathryn Tickell and The Side (Resilient 162524)
