You can look forward to an eclectic selection of music in today’s programme.

Malian singer and guitarist Vieux Farka Touré joins Israeli musician Idan Raichel in their latest collaborative album, The Paris Session. And singer-songwriter Vinicio Capossela plays his version of rebetiko, the hybrid genre of Greek and Ottoman styles that developed in the 1930s.

We also feature mandolin wizard Chris Thile in two of his many guises: as lead singer on the Punch Brothers’ 2014 album The Phosphorescent Blues, and in duets with bassist Edgar Meyer on the album Bass & Mandolin.
