As usual, William leads up to these with quick whips through the discographies of both artists: ES&TMZ's Up From Below, and Josephine Foster's Little Life, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, This Coming Gladness and Graphic As A Star.
He opens the programme with The Rolling Stones' "Sing this Song All Together" from Their Satanic Majesties Request. And the segue between the two main artists is via their contributions to tribute albums - in the case of ES&TMZ, it's their performance of David Bowie's "Memory of a Free Festival" from the album We Were so Turned On; and in the case of Foster, it's her performance of Kath Bloom's "Look at me" from Loving Takes This Course".

New Horizons will have three series in 2013.
Series One: 3 March - 5 May (9 programmes - no programme on 31 March)
Series Two: 16 June – 25 August (11 programmes)
Series Three: 13 October – 15 December (10 programmes)
Plus a Christmas special on 22 December.
When a series is running, the programme plays on Sundays at 7.00pm, on Radio New Zealand Concert.

William Dart's Track Record
New Horizons has been on air for over thirty years. Its first broadcast in April 1980 was heralded by a cover on the New Zealand Listener. The albums featured on that cover - albums by Ry Cooder, XTC, The Kinks and Ray Davies, Sparks, Randy Newman, Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Costello and Jonathan Richman - were chosen by William. The artists have mostly continued to have flourishing careers and have been featured many times on the programme over the years. It just goes to show that William knows how to pick'em.
