From Upbeat, 1:00 pm on 27 March 2017

Evocative works by Mendelssohn, Elgar and Strauss celebrating the beauty and the majesty of nature opened Edo de Waart’s New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Masterworks series 2017. Along with acclaimed American mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung, two wind machines and organ, Maestro Edo de Waart guided audiences in Auckland and Wellington on an orchestral adventure through the great outdoors.  Reviewer Peter Hoar was at the Auckland Town Hall performance.
