NZTrio was recognised for their album Sway, with Cellist Ashley Brown receiving the Tui on behalf of the group.

The album features a commissioned piece by Clare Cowan, who presented the best Classical award to NZTrio. It’s been described by the group as “Lighter in style and … something with a different energy and positive vibes.”

It is also the last recording of the original line up including pianist Sarah Watkins and violinist Justine Cormack. After 15 years with the group, Cormack stepped down from the group in May to pursue new opportunities.

Brown and Watkins are currently recruiting for a new violinist.
