“In Memoriam” is a new song-cycle for string quartet and tenor voice by NZ composer Janet Jennings, and forms part of the programme for a three-centre tour by the New Zealand String Quartet. Upbeat talks with Janet Jennings about the new work and its inspiration, and to its soloist, baritone-turned-tenor Jared Holt about switching voice-types.

1.30 Atamira founder becomes new leader
Jack Gray is the new Artistic Director of Atamira Dance, the country’s leading Maori contemporary dance company. Gray was one the company’s founders fifteen years ago but in the last few years has been working outside Aotearoa. Jack tells Eva Radich about the challenges indigenous groups face in creating work that resonates with the past but still moves the art form forward.
