Vela Manusaute & Stacey Leilua: The Factory

From Upbeat, 12:40 pm on 6 June 2014

New Zealand's first-ever Pacific musical The Factory has one more performance tonight in Auckland ahead of an Australian tour and a month-long season at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Affectionately dubbed The Samoan Les Mis, The Factory is set in 1974 and tells the story of a Samoan family who arrive in "the land of milk and honey" with high aspirations and find themselves working in a Ponsonby carpet factory. It's been created by the Pacific island production company Kila Kokonut Krew lead by Vela Manusaute and producers Anapela Polataivao and Stacey Leilua .
