(11) STRAUSS: Ariadne auf Naxos, an opera in two acts with a prologue
Strauss and Hofmannsthal's opera, based on the legend of Ariadne. This work underwent substantial revision before eventually being premièred in Vienna in October of 1916 with some of the greatest singers of the time: Maria Jeritza as Ariadne, Selma Kurz as Zerbinetta and Lotte Lehmann as the Composer
