America Samoa's House of Representatives looks set to vote in Matagi Ray McMoore as its Speaker despite allegations of misuse of public funds against him.

Twelve of the House's 20 voting members have agreed to vote for Matagi when the Speaker's position is elected today.

Matagi is being challenged by Muavaefaatasi Ae Ae Jr.

Matagi and his wife are defendants in a class action by lawmaker Agaolaeatu Charlie Tautolo who claims that they used more than 58-thousand US dollars in House funds to illegally purchase a vehicle and for off island travel expenses.
