Relief supplies and a medical team are due to have reached the remote island of Anuta in the Solomon Islands.

Anuta, and its nearest neighbour Tikopia, were hit by Cyclone Zoe over a week ago.

A Solomon Islands patrol boat and the vessel, Isabella, should have arrived at Anuta last night, after dropping supplies and providing medical assistance on Tikopia.

The deputy director of the Solomons National Disaster Management Office, Martin Karani says both vessels took food, water containers and equipment.
