The Papua New Guinea National Court in East Sepik Province has thrown out election petitions lodged against Prime Minister, Sir Michael Somare.

Senior judge of National Supreme Courts, Justice Sir Kubulan Los also threw out the petition against the Governor of East Sepik, Arthur Somare.

The father and son politicians had their election victories formalised after Sir Kubulan ruled the petitions incompetent and dismissed them.

Meanwhile the National Court in Mt Hagen has also dismissed the petition against another MP Jeffery Nape.
