Marshall Islands to continue deal with USP

4:54 pm on 21 June 2002

The Marshall Islands government has signed an agreement to run a programme extending its association with the Fiji-based University of the South Pacific.

This comes after an apparent delay to extend the arrangement which prompted the office of President Kessai Note to remove authority on the matter from the education ministry.

A top official in the president's office, Tadashi Lometo, says with the USP on board the government can now offer more opportunities to Marshall Islands students.
