The Solomon Islands Peace Monitoring council says it has focused on four key objectives for the future.

The Vice chairman of the PMC, Frank Pororara says the main objectives are national reconciliation, continuing weapons surrender , village leadership, traditions and values and good governance.

He says much of the council's important work was conducted behind the scenes, including making representation and recommendations to the Government on issues important to the peace process.

Mr Pororara told the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation that the PMC would continue to work as a neutral honest broker to encourage reconciliation between various factions in Guadalcanal and Malaita.
