Fiji's SDL-led government has been accused of a conspiracy to undermine the education of Indo-Fijian children.
The charge has been laid in parliament by the Labour Party MP and deposed education minister, Pratap Chand.
Mr Chand says the government is holding back money allocated in the budget for schools run by Indo-Fijian managements.
At the same time, indigenous schools have been allocated special funds to buy textbooks and improve buildings and other resources.
Mr Chand says indigenous students are also losing out because they comprise about thirty per cent of the enrolement at Indian-run schools.
He says he will take the issue up with the Human Rights Commission or failing that, will challenge it in court.
