New Caledonia has a new High Commissioner.
Sixty two year old, Daniel Constantin, arrived in the French Territory yesterday to replace his predecessor, Thierry Lataste.
Constantin used to be a prefect in the Languedoc-Roussilon region of Southern France, but had previously worked in New Caledonia in the 1970s.
Thierry Lataste is to tak up the post of prefect in Savoie in southeastern France.
