Another report from Solomon Islands says a shooting incident in the Gold Ridge area on Thursday night has claimed the life of a 16 year old girl and left an eight year old fighting for her life at the National Referral Hospital in Honiara.
The national broadcaster , the SIBC, says the two were travelling in a truck with relatives when the vehicle was fired on.
Police are still trying to establish where the gunshots came from and who was the target in the vehicle.
