Local officials in Solomon Islands will this week arrange a traditional settlement ceremony after a shooting incident in the Gold Ridge area in Solomon Islands left a 16 year old girl dead and an eight year old seriously injured.
The two were travelling in a truck with relatives when the vehicle was fired on.
An uncle of the girl who died has called for calm saying the government and police should deal with the shooting incident as soon as possible.
Police are still trying to establish where the gunshots came from and who was the target in the vehicle.
