The Chief Executive Officer of the government owned LBJ Medical Center, John Taufete'e, told lawmakers that several employees had been dismissed following drug testing in several divisions.

Mr Taufete'e said the testing would soon be extended to cover doctors.

During the last testing round several employees refused to take part and they were dismissed straightaway.

Mr Taufete'e would not says how many employees have been sacked since the implementation of the test last year, however, hospital sources say a total of 15 have had their jobs terminated so far.
