Marshalls embassies face more criticism over lack of controls on spending

Marshall Islands embassies have again been criticised for failing to account for nearly three hundred thousand US dollars spent as petty cash.

An audit was critical of the lack of formal rules and regulations governing the reconciliation of petty cash at the diplomatic posts.

The lack of accounting material covering the spending has been identified as a problem in every annual audit since 1993.
