Fiji students selling drugs in schools

A report from Fiji says students are selling illegal drugs in their schools for a share of the profits.

The report says adults use children to sell marijuana and at the end of the day pay them fifty per cent of the income.

The Sunday Times says this has been revealed at a drug prevention workshop for head teachers and principals.

The workshop was told that students were selling drugs among their peers because of the highly profitable nature of the trade.

It heard that while dangers associated wth drugs are well understood, students took the risk because of harsh living conditions associated with poverty.
