Samoa's Minister of Finance calls on NGO's to provide properly audited accounts

Samoa's Minister of Finance, Misa Telefoni, says non government organisations must present audited accounts if they want to attract more funds from overseas agencies.

Speaking to an umbrella body of non government organisations, SUNGO, Misa said not only would proper accounts help attract further assistance, they would also ensure that the NGO was functioning properly.

He suggested that the umbrella group should provide accountants and auditors if individual organisations could not afford to do so.

SUNGO was established in 1997 and has grown to include 36 financial members
