A government minister's daughter and the body guard of the National Parliament Speaker needed hospital treatment after two separate shootings in Port Moresby yesterday .
The speaker, Bill Skate, was travelling in his vehicle when it was fired at.
The shot hit his bodyguard, who was driving, in the arm.
Mr Skate told the Post Courier he heard another shot from the same area as he was taking his bodyguard to hospital.
The other shot had been fired at the car of the Energy Minister, Sir Moi Avei, which was being driven by his wife.
His twelve year old daughter was hit in the abdomen.
