The Olympic Solidarity Program has awarded a grant of 50-thousnad US dollars to preapre a baseball team from American Samoa to the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
The president of the American Samoa Baseball Association, Ben Solaita, says the lack of local playing fields will mean the team will have to train off-island.
The team will prepare for the Olympics by participating in the South Pacific Games in Fiji next year.
