The prime minister of Solomon Islands, Sir Allan Kemakeza, says he does not know about any motives behind the weekend shooting of his special advisor, Robert Goh, in Honiara.

Mr Goh has since been airlifted to Cairns after he was operated on at the National Referral Hospital in Honiara for gun shot wounds in the abdomen.

Sir Allan says he does not know any reasons for the shooting and is leaving it to the police to find out.

However, he says he is concerned about the incident and says police have increased security around him.

Meanwhile, Jackson Ofu of CID says an official investigation into the attack has begun, but police are yet to make an arrest.
