Fiji Veterans of nuclear tests in the South Pacific will join their New Zealand and British counterparts in a class action against the British ministry of defence.
The Daily Post reports two lawyers from Britain will be in Suva this weekend to meet members of the Fiji Nuclear Test Veterans Association in a bid to identify all possible claimants.
The lawyers will investigate represent and bring a claim on behalf of all veterans exposed to radiation in the British nuclear tests on Christmas and Malden Islands in Kiribati in the 1950s.
The British lawyers will also identify a Fiji counterpart to handle the group claimants in the country.
The class action is being funded by the British Legal Services Commission.
