Five of the eight cases involved teenagers who tried to sneak into the country while in transit.

Immigration officers have been on the look-out for illegal Asians but Nigerians have now topped the list.

The department says the fake documents are of extremely high quality and difficult to detect.

The officers have increased surveillance of Nigerians, especially because of their involvement in international fiancial scams.
