The French constitutional council has annulled last June's election of the member of the French parliament representing Wallis and Futuna, Victor Brial.
This has been announced in Paris by the assembly's presidency.
It is not immediately clear why the result was annulled following Mr Brial's narrow victory.
He beat Penisio Tiatelagi by 58 votes in a poll that had a turnout of more than 80 percent.
