The Solomon Islands government has commended the recent seizure of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of cigarettes.

The goods were seized when they arrived at Henderson Airport on a flight from Vanuatu.

The prime minister's office says the action is a clear signal to the business community that all goods imported into the country are subject to customs charges.
