Solomon Islands police say a regular officer, the main suspect in the killing of Sir Frederick Soaki, continues to elude them on the island of Malaita.
Assistant Commissioner John Homelo says police had attempted to arrest the man last week but he had disappeared.
Police say the man is thought to be armed and may be accompanied by former militants.
Sir Frederick was shot dead in a restaurant in Auki three weeks ago.
