One of Fiji's domestic airlines, SUN AIR, has been forced to ground its second Twin Otter plane.
This follows a fire in the engine of its first Twin Otter on Sunday as it was about to begin its take off run from Nadi on a flight to Labasa.
Only intervention from a Labasa-bound passenger prevented the take off.
Radio Fiji reports that the pilots concerned have been stood down pending an investigation by the Civil Aviation Authority.
The authority says a more detailed study of the engine will be done by engineers from the manufacturer.
