New Caledonia's FLNKS to meet in May

5:00 pm on 28 February 2003

New Caledonia's pro-independence FLNKS movement has again set a tentative date for a congress.

It is now to be held on May the 24th after repeatedly delaying the event.

This comes amid dissent among the factions making up the FLNKS.

The last Congress was held in late 2001 and the movement has been without a leader since the departure from the post of Roch Wamytan.
