The Western Highlands governor Paias Wingti is celebrating victory after the Papua New Guinea Court of Disputed Returns threw out a case against his election win last year.
Deputy Chief Justice Sir Mari Kapi, had earlier dismissed the election petition filed by former Governor Fr Robert Lak.
Sir Mari struck out the petition after he found that here was no evidence given by five of Fr Lak's witnesses to support his allegations of bribery and undue influence.
