The University of French Polynesia will begin offering medical studies at the start of the new school year later in 2003 under a partnership agreement with the University of Bordeaux.
The studies will involve first year medical courses.
Tahiti Presse says teachers from Bordeaux will conduct the lectures and teachers from Tahiti's University will handle part of the biology programme.
A maximum of 40 to 50 students will be accepted in the first year.
