A senior official at Vanuatu's Ministry of Finance has threatened to publicise the names of all companies and individuals who owe the government millions of dollars.

George Andrews says one of the reasons why the government is short of revenue is because of unpaid debts.

Mr Andrews, who used to be the director general of education, was transferred to the finance ministry this year to help raise government revenue.

Mr Andrews says while he must be seen to be supportive of the present taxation system, there is still a lot to done in collecting outstanding revenue especially in the Ministry of lands.
