Papua New Guinea's high commissioner in Solomon Islands, Ponape Yuwa, says the authorities don't know the whereabouts of Noah Musingku, who is wanted in PNG in connection with a collapsed pyramid scheme.

Mr Yuwa says the Solomon Island government last month cancelled expectations they had after Mr Musingku's promise of a 350 million US dollar grant from the Bougainville-based Royal Assembly of Nations and Kingdoms which he represents.

Mr Yuwa says they can only assume Mr Musingku is on the run.

"The only way he gets into Solomon Islands is through the border and he is not here and then we only imagine he is back on Bougainville. So it's over as far as that much talked arrangement between the SI government and Musingku - it seems to be over at least for the time being."
