Samoa's Minister of Finance, Misa Telefoni, has praised staff at the Treasury and the office of the Chief Accountant for processing the country's accounts in record time.
Misa said by December last year the audited accounts were completed and ready for submission to Parliament and the Public Accounts Committee.
He told Televise Samoa that in this might be a new record.
Misa said another milestone was that fact that all the work had been completely done by local staff.
The Minister said the improvement was a result of institutional reforms and the introduction of computers, but most of all he said it was down to the hard work of the individuals concerned.
