Police in Solomon Islands are investigating thefts from a weapons storage container at Hells Point near Honiara on Saturday night.
Reports say the security for the container was guaranteed by police.

"Police media officer Charles Lemoa said the container had explosives and weapons stored from collections made by the International Peace Monitoring Team, the IPMT, and the Peace Monitoring Council last year. He says they are not able to verify what items were taken from the container yet as they need a list of its contents from the National Peace Council which has remained tightlipped about the incident."
