The University of the South Pacific has bought out the Suva campus of the rival Central Queensland University.

The USP paid 2.4 million US dollars for the property which was put on tender by its owners, Telecom Fiji Limited.

The USP plans to build a new 12-million US dollar School of Information and Communications Technology at the site.

Meanwhile, the Central Queensland University is assuring its Suva students, most of whom are overseas Asians, that they will continue teaching from the new site.
