The city council of the Solomon Islands capital, Honiara, has warned the government that it will go on strike in just over two weeks if city health workers don't get paid.

The chairman for health, Alfonse Fatai, says if the arrears are not paid all city health clinics will close on June the 28th.

Mr Fatai says health workers are owed five pay days.
