The Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare has reiterated calls for Bougainvilleans to step up efforts to complete the weapons disposal.
Sir Michael says Bougainville must utilise the presence of the Transition Team and the UN Observer Mission before they complete their assignment at the end of the year.
He says there is no time to lose if PNG wants these groups to help.
And Sir Michael says the money being wasted on providing security for useless gun containers should be used for community based restoration and development projects.
