The Fiji Labour Party is expected to give the prime minister, Laisenia Qarase, a list of 20 names from which he can choose 14 cabinet ministers.

The prime minister offered Labour 14 portfolios in an expanded 36 member cabinet when he issued a Supreme Court-ordered invitation to Labour to join a multi-party cabinet.

Radio Fiji quotes a senior Labour official as saying that party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, will announce the list of twenty names at Labour's annual convention in Nadi tomorrow.

The official says all Labour MPs have given Mr Chaudhry their full mandate to name who should be in the multi-party cabinet.

Labour will hold a closed doors delegates conference in Nadi today to discuss the 14 portfolios offered by Mr Qarase.

Mr Chaudhry says he hopes to continue further dilague with the prime minister so that their partnership in cabinet is based on mutual trust and confidence in each other.

He says people want them to work together to effectively address the country's problems and to reconcile and unite the communities.
