Three Micronesian Presidents, and the heads of Government of Vanuatu and Niue have flown to Bora Bora as part of the French Polynesian Government programme to show them some of the outer islands.

This comes after yesterday's talks with the French President, Jacques Chirac, who is now on the way back to Paris.

Walter Zweifel reports from Papeete.

"Two days after being shown Moorea some of the leaders and delegates from Wallis and Futuna, and the head of the Pacific Community, today looked at Bora Bora's desalination plant. Joseph Urusemal of the Federated States of Micronesia and Palau's Tommy Remengesau, are due back in Tahiti tonight to fly home, while the others led by the territories President, Gaston Flosse will continue to the atoll of Fakarava to inaugurate the runway's extension, and attend tonight's opening of the Haeva, the traditional festival of Tuamotu's archipelego"
