A search is underway in French Polynesia's Tuamotu archipeligo for eight people missing at sea.
Their 23 foot boat left Amanu atoll for Tauere but failed to arrive .
Walter Weifel has more details.....
"The alarm was raised two days ago and since yesterday morning three French military aircraft have been searching the area. The boat left Amanu with six adults and two small children aboard for a voyage that was expected to take about three hours. A Fench military spokesman says the boat is poorly equipped. It has no radio, no flares and no lifejackets. He says weather conditions in the area are fine but so far there has been no sighting of the boat."
